Bloodtech Beyond is a fast-paced FPS shooter concept inspired by games like Titanfall 2, Halo 5 and Overwatch. The game was designed to deliver exciting mobility and aerial combats through a jetpack mechanic.
As part of my graduate industry project, our team created a prototype through iterative and agile game design. This prototype is meant to explore the core movement mechanics enabled by a jetpack. Additionally, The purpose of this project was to affirm the feasibility of the concept prior to making substantial business decisions, including the expansion of the development team.
The playable prototype and playtest results were used to pitch the game idea to the studio board for production approval
The project also helped the client to get a clear idea about the gameplay experience and craft the narrative accordingly. The playable prototype gave an indication about which other existing titles this game can compete with.
Bloodtech Beyond features freedom of movement thanks to its jetpack. Players can jump high to reach hard to reach places, dash forward or sideways to dodge bullets, hover in air for that perfect shot or charge up for an incredible overdrive that boosts them forward and covers a large distance.
Players can play high-adrenaline fast-paced combats in the game’s single-player or multiplayer levels. An open map challenges players to move fast, and do exciting platforming, all while dodging enemy attacks and firing responsive guns.
Players can join in teams of 2 to go against another team of 2 to fight for dominance. The multiplayer mode features the same exciting map with collectible coins and enemy units.
Bloodtech Beyond is optimized to be played with controllers. The controller button mapping is carefully designed to give maximum control over the player character. Additionally, aim lock on mechanic gives players precise shooting even during frantic gameplay.
